Hey Readers - It's that time again! Ever get really excited or disappointed by a spoiler for your subscription box only to have the opposite reaction when your box arrives? January's Boxycharm Spoilers are out! This month looks a little reminiscent of the last few months boxes - but I am still pretty excited! Read more to find out my expectations for the next Boxycharm based on the spoilers. The Crown 9 Color Glam Metals Eyeshadow Palette looks simply amazing. We have been receiving a lot of eyeshadow lately - but I've decided to give up and embrace the eyeshadow hoarder in me. They're like pokemon at this point, I must catch them all. Crown claims that these metallic shades are very blendable and create the perfect smokey look. Blendability usually ends up being my biggest gripe with most metallic shades. These shades have got me really excited so I really hope this product lives up to their claims. Stay tuned as I will be writing a separate blog post on this palette. Let me know in the comments if you would prefer a straight testing of this palette alone or a comparison against other metallic palettes like the Urban Decay Heavy Metals Palette. So. . . cool story, the Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil sucks butt. I tried it last year and wish I hadn't wasted my money. It goes on way too dark making it universal for just about no one. It also looks like crayon because it's so oily, which drives me insane. Additionally, the shape of the pencil tip makes zero sense. It doesn't create a clean line and it's too fat to be precise. I can't wait to have the same terrible experience again. Since then, I have learned that a greasy pencil can be fixed by dipping it in setting powder before using it - so maybe I'll have a better experience this time? Feel free to steal that pro tip for your crappy eyebrow pencils when you're running low on the good stuff. I usually love to try Dr. Brandt Products, but this Luminizer Primer does not look like it will be up my alley. The Dr. Brandt website says that this product is, "an illuminating primer that delivers a natural radiant glow while blurring pores and imperfections for a beautifully illuminated flawless complexion." While I love a pore blurring primer, luminizing primers usually do the opposite and make my pores look huge. The description of this is a bit of an oxymoron to me. My excitement to try this is more out of curiosity than high hopes. Hopefully it will prove me wrong and end up being awesome! I couldn't find anything about this palette online - but I am not excited. I do not like Pur bronzers and we just got 2 separate contour palettes in our last box. I couldn't be less pleased with the lack of creativity here. I hate to be super negative about this one but its a bit too much on the cheek products lately. Who needs this much bronzer? OR I'm sick of basic everyday lip paints - and I wasn't very excited when I first saw this spoiler. Even though I usually like Girlactik products, my immediate reaction was - oh great another matte lip paint in some earthy color. But then, I checked out the description. Apparently, this liquid lippie is known as on of the best formulas in liquid lipsticks. They are said to be richly pigmented and quick drying without dryness or flaking. If I do have to get another matte lippie - at least its one of the best! The Grande Lips Hydrating Lip Plumper would be my preferred choice. I would be much more excited to try a product that offers an additional benefit over another matte lippie. According to their site, "Grande LIPS Hydrating Lip Plumper is infused with VolulipTM and Hyaluronic Acid, instantly improves lip volume in 3-5 minutes and hydrates dry areas." Now that is a claim I want to test out! My lips get very dry in the winter and I don't want to suffer through the disgusting taste of Carmex every day! I am very excited for the eyeshadow and the possibility of the Grande Lips in this month's Boxycharm - but overall, I'm not that impressed. Last month was a little disappointing, so it would be nice if this box would surprise me by exceeding my expectations. Unfortunately, my hopes are not high. Only time will tell if the real thing will end up better than the spoiler!
