We've all done it - you get really excited or disappointed by a spoiler for your subscription box only to have the opposite reaction when your box arrives! In this blog series I explore my reaction to my Ipsy spoilers compared to when it shows up. My February Ipsy Spoilers are out! Read more to find out if these spoilers have me excited or less than thrilled for this month's Ipsy! This month's bag is very cute. It's very delicate and simple, especially compared to the loud ass bag we got last month. I love the cute bags that will look good in a handbag or all by itself as a tiny clutch. I'm also always a big fan of the top closing zipper! I hope it's as cute as it looks in this picture because my hopes are high for this one. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS! I'm always super stoked to get nail polish, because I am obsessed. Trust Fund Beauty makes fabulous nail polish. I was super stoked whenever I saw this in my spoiler. I also love the quirky names and descriptions they write for the Trust Fund Beauty website. They're entertaining to read and make shopping a little more fun. The color is pretty, and it's limited edition, but it is also very similar to the one I received in my October Ipsy pictured to the left. This does, however, give me an awesome opportunity to compare the two for a blog post! I'm a little disappointed in the lack of originality, but I am still very happy to be receiving nail polish! Especially from a brand like Trust Fund Beauty that has such great pigment and a fast drying formula! I don't like getting lip balm in my Ipsy. I always end up using them once or twice, just to find them 5 months later in the bottom of a handbag. My hopes weren't initially high for a life changing experience, as it is just lip balm. Much to my surprise, I soon came to realize that this is much more than "just a lip balm." I've never heard of Jersey Shore Cosmetics so I decided to check out their site. I was happy to read their products are Paraben, Petrochemical, Phthalate and Cruelty-Free as well as eco, vegetarian and reef friendly. These are all good things. I have also learned that this balm has a multitude of uses. According to Jersey Shore Cosmetics: "Our all natural lip conditioners, highlighters, and balms, make great high-quality gifts! They are petroleum-free, gluten-free, paraben-free and 100% natural. Jersey Shore Cosmetics all natural, organic balms have a multitude of uses. Our balms have been used as chaffing balms on the thighs and arms, as nipple conditioning salves for new Moms, night balms, cuticle conditioners and makeup removers." The additional uses and organic formula have me sold - I can't wait to try the Apple Harvest Hydrating Balm! I'm a really big fan of Ofra Liquid Lipsticks. Their liquid lipsticks are formulated to stay in place longer than your average lipstick. They were also formulated with everyday long lasting wear in mind, while maintaining high pigmentation. They are comfortable and application is a breeze. I could go on and on about the wearability of Ofra Liquid Lipsticks, but this color might not be up my alley. I hope it looks a little better in person, because I am currently less than jazzed about it. I'm not exactly thrilled to be receiving this Pacifica Beach Crystals Mini Palette. I'm not the biggest fan of Pacifica. The colors are usually beautiful, and they are cruelty-free. Unfortunately, the pigmentation leaves a lot to be desired for me. I can see how it would work out well for someone with a fairer skin tone, so I usually end up giving these to one of my white friends. So, get excited white friends, one of you is likely getting some eyeshadow in our next swap. I usually like the color palettes they send me, but I'm also not all that excited these colors. I don't use, pastel purple. If you use pastel purple, stop. Now. This is not an eyeshadow shade that flatters anyone. Don't get me wrong, I really like violet and purple in eyeshadow. Pastel purple, however, reminds me of a children's eyeshadow set. It is not flattering, nor does it blend well with anything. Feel free to prove me wrong, but every time I've attempted to use pastel purple it goes very poorly. I swear, between Ipsy and Boxycharm, I will never have to buy another Luxie Beauty brush again! I only have one gripe with this brush. It's double ended. I don't have a lot of double ended brushes because I don't like the storage issues they present. It's not the end of the world, some of my favorite brushes are double ended. So if it's a great brush, I'll be happy to put up with this minor detail. I love Luxie Beauty brushes because they always do what they say they are going to do. I've had a lot of contour and blending brushes that end up being terrible, but this has never been the case with Luxie Beauty. They focus on brush shape and hair direction in a way that makes makeup application feel easy! Overall, I am very excited for my February Ipsy! I'm really happy about most of the items I am receiving and anything that doesn't work due to color will be a good gift or swap. I hope it lives up to the hype!

My contents were a little different. I got the same eyeshadow (yay! I’m pretty fair, so these colors are right up my alley) I got a lemongrass/honey macaroon lip balm ( yum) and a weird rusty blush. It’s looking for a new home. Instead of nail polish I got a dry shampoo, I’m super excited to give it a try.
